Vegan Burgers-with great texture and flavor!

This awesome vegan burger uses a mix of bulgar wheat, vegan Worcestershire sauce (yes, it does exist!) and textured vegetable protein to give it a beef-like texture. These ingredients are harder to find than the vegetables used in the recipe, but most Whole Foods and Fresh Market stores will carry them. If you’ve never used bulgar or vegetable protein before, this is the perfect chance to give them a try.

I’ve cooked this burger in both a pan and on a grill, and never had a problem with it falling apart like many vegetarian/vegan burgers often do. My meat-eating friends were impressed that a vegan burger could be so satisfying – and they have requested the grilled version many times since!
