Spicy Bread Pakoras (Manjula’s recipe)

These can also be made a day in advance but do not refrigerate. Place on a cookie sheet and preheat in a 300 degree oven.

Ingredients to make 12 pieces

4 firm slices white bread
1 cup gram flour (besan)
1 tablespoon rice flour (corn flour should work fine as well)
1 teaspoon salt
Pinch of asafetida (hing)
1 teaspoon cumin seed
2 finely chopped green chilly
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (green coriander)
3/4 cup water
Oil to fry
