Mango Sorbet (non dairy)

Ahhh..fresh mangos make for an amazing summer sorbet treat!

All you need is fresh mangoes, a lemon, some simple syrup, and salt. How easy is that??

(Note: Laura does not show how to make simple syrup in this video. It is made from sugar and water. If you are not sure how to make this, click here for the recipe.)

Laura demonstrates how to cut the mangos and remove the skin. Add the juice of one small lemon and a little salt. Then blend in the food processor to create a puree.

Cool the mixture for 2 hours in the fridge (or over night). The colder the better.

If you do not have an ice cream machine, place the mixture in a bowl and put it in the freezer. You’ll need to whisk it every 45 minutes if you use this method.

Follow the directions in your ice cream machine and store in the freezer until you are ready to serve. It is amazingly creamy because of the pureeing early in the process.
