Just for Fun – Homemade Gummy Bears!

This recipe caught my eye because I’ve always enjoyed the texture of gummy bears and because their minimal fat content makes them superior to most candies. All you need is a candy mold (available at almost any craft store) and a few very basic ingredients. If you have kids (or nieces and nephews), t’s a great way to get children interested in cooking.

I made this with my nephews and it sparked an fascination with food prep; they’ve both become eager to help with traditional meals. More importantly for my sister, it gives her a rest when they come over for a visit!

If you love sweets but can’t find healthy recipes, check this out. Chocolate, candy, and even ice cream—a vegan alternative to ice cream—are featured in this fun vegan dessert cookbook. Recipes include old favorites, such as carmel corn, saltwater taffy, pralines, cookies, cakes, and fudge, plus some brave, new gluten-free recipes, such as the Fabulous Flourless Chocolate Torte and the Toll-Free Chocolate Chip cookies. These decadent temptations allow treats for dairy-free or wheat-free diets as well as for anyone who loves sweets.
