Best Homemade Protein Bars!

Are you a bodybuilder-in-training? Me either! But I love this bodybuilder’s recipe for protein bars. It’s a simple, low-carb, high-protein treat that you can take anywhere. The honey lends a low-calorie sweetness and the oatmeal is a light, healthy binder to add firmness. It’s very easy to make and the ingredients can be found just about anywhere.

Here is the list of ingredients, compliments of the presenter’s You Tube channel:

– 8 scoops chocolate protein powder
– 1 cup oatmeal  (quick oats works best-smaller size)
– 1/3 cup natural peanut butter (not the regular store quality peanut butter)
– 3 tbsp honey
– 1/2 cup 1% milk
– crushed peanuts (optional)

Once you roll these and allow them to set in the fridge, you can store them in a zip lock bag for a quick snack.

Each bar contains:
Calories 322
Protein 27
Carbs 18
Fat 16

Most of us will never have the muscles of the presenter in this video, but there are great resources for building muscle for the more athletically inclined. This book is a great resource for vegans who want to add muscle – or just live a healthier lifestyle:
